Industrial Piping Superintendent - Traveling
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Piping Superintendent with a strong emphasis on mechanical piping systems for industrial projects. This role involves providing leadership, supervision, and support on-site to ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing piping operations in sectors like Pulp & Paper, Chemical, and Heavy Industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead piping crews and supervise daily work activities, ensuring all piping systems are installed according to project specifications.

Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate mechanical and piping designs, ensuring the project's constructability.

Manage relationships with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met, while maintaining quality standards.

Construction Cost Management: Oversee project budgets, control costs, and manage change orders efficiently.

Provide direct supervision to foremen and ensure that piping work is executed safely, on time, and within budget.

Develop construction plans, review piping drawings, and ensure material take-offs and requisitions are accurately prepared.

Proactively identify potential issues and develop solutions to ensure smooth project progress.

Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project timelines and resolving any site challenges.
Essential Skills:

Mechanical Piping Expertise: Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.

Industrial Project Experience: Expertise in managing projects in Pulp & Paper, Chemical, and Heavy Industrial environments.

Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of direct hire craft resources and subcontractors.

Cost Management & Efficiency: Experience in managing construction costs, bidding, subcontractor coordination, and workforce allocation.

Technical Expertise: Ability to read and interpret piping specifications, blueprints, and construction schedules.

Safety & Compliance: Familiarity with OSHA regulations, particularly OSHA 10 & 30 certifications.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.

5-7 years of experience in industrial piping construction with a strong focus on mechanical systems.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in project management software.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Certifications:

OSHA 10 & 30

PMP Certification (preferred but not required)
