POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting as per the organization chart, this position is responsible for learning the methodologies, capabilities and limitations, and skills required for successful transition to greater responsibilities with Colortech.
As a member of the Commercial Organization, the Commercial Trainee or Sales Trainee will rotate through numerous temporary assignments throughout the organization in order to gain a better understanding of the company and to prepare for future career advancement. Rotation assignments will vary, but may include time in the following areas: Pricing, Customer Service, Technical Service, Process Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Quality Assurance. Once training is complete, this person will be moved to another location (multiple location options available).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
SCOPE AND DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
Routine work for which general instructions are provided. Some analysis required in decision making. All activities are governed by policies and procedures but some freedom exists for selecting action. All difficult or unusual situations are referred to supervisor for resolution.
Relationships:
Works with Sales and Marketing, Laboratory and Production departments.
Communicates with customers to create and further develop relationships.
Financial Responsibility:
May assist in the development of budgets and/or monitoring of results for own work unit or project.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Specialized education equivalent to a Bachelors Degree. Requires application of knowledge in a specialized field. Ability to plan and organize work. Capable of solving problems of a difficult nature, within field of specialization.
Fields of study to be considered for Colortech Commercial Management Development Program include: Marketing, Business, Sales, Engineering or Chemistry.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Requires no prior experience, or less than one year of experience. Knowledge of sales and plastic materials processing or equivalent work experience in related departments in similar industry is desirable but not required.

Mental effort in this position primarily relates to providing analytical support initiative and creativity, attention to detail and meeting deadlines, because of responsibilities for sales development and customer service issues.
