(3) Valid Tennessee teaching license required; administrative endorsement preferred (or actively pursuing endorsement). This is a full-time, 11-month position that includes benefits. INTERNAL applicants must fully complete their application.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Three years' successful teaching experience.
  2. Master's degree preferred.
  3. Valid Tennessee teaching license required; administrative endorsement preferred.
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL


To continually communicate a clear vision of the school's mission and high expectations; to provide leadership for the accomplishment of shared goals and objectives for the school's program.

 


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Assist in developing class rosters.
  2. Assist in tracking and following up on attendance issues.
  3. Assist with discipline (i.e., bus, classroom and cafeteria referrals, etc.)
  4. Assist with assignment, supervision, and evaluation of student teachers.
  5. Be responsible for the procurement, distribution, and inventories of all textbooks.
  6. Be responsible for scheduling and coordinating special services, IEP meetings, and ensuring the involvement of the appropriate administrators.
  7. Be responsible for the maintenance of assigned instructional equipment.
  8. Be responsible for publishing a monthly newspaper.
  9. Be responsible for the student handbook.
  10. Assist in developing a master schedule.
  11. Chaperone school events on a rotating basis with other personnel.
  12. Be aware of building maintenance needs and pursue avenues to keep the building in good condition and conducive to student learning.
  13. Perform other duties as may reasonably be prescribed by the principals, supervisors, or director of schools.
  14. Act in the principal capacity in the absence of the principal.
