We are looking to hire a fulltime Aide at our Adult Day Center in Johnson City. You can have your evenings and weekends off! Our center is open Monday through Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm. Come Join our Team. Adult Day Services (ADS) is a wonderful program of personalized care for adults who are physically, socially, emotionally and mentally challenged, or frail due to advanced age. This program helps older people maintain their independence by providing stimulating activities including daily exercise and craft projects. 

POSITION TITLE: Aide

REPORTS TO: Director of Adult Day Services

JOB SUMMARY:  The Adult Day Center Aide is responsible for providing assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) of clients and involved in the coordination of all planned activities/trips.  In general, the Aide oversees that clients participate in scheduled activities to reach their goals. This position requires contact with the community in setting up programs that teach skills to the clients and practice on the newly acquired skills. Operation of the center van is also required to meet clients and center needs. Must pass drug tests, background checks and physical requirement testing from choice of Agency providers to secure and maintain employment.

Full Time Position -  40 hours per week (8hr shift 7:30am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday)  
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Assists with all facets of daily operation and client care of Adult Day Care Center, including aide and assistance with bathroom visits and associated wheelchair transfers for all clients. Must be able to lift, stoop, squat and bend to assist clients with wheelchair transfers for bathroom visits, for activities, put away kitchen stock, lift commercial pans of foods, move furniture for staging activities and roll wheelchairs in center and loading and unloading vans. This may include pulling, pushing and occasional lifting of up to eighty-five pounds.

2. Aids in breakfast, lunch and snack preparation and clean up daily. Orders and prepares breakfast and snack foods and keeps appropriate records for reimbursements.
 
3. Assists in set up of activity areas as needed. Completes monthly activities calendar and arranges programs with assistance of ADS Director and Assistant Director.

4. Ensures that daily cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting supplies are fully stocked and available in designated place, and reordered in a timely fashion. Ensures that all surfaces are cleaned and sanitized (chairs, tabletops, etc.), and that floors are free of fall hazards (tripping hazards, liquids, etc.).
 
5. Maintains monthly reports of client health monitoring and communicates with family and physicians as needed about observed problems.
 
6. Drives van as needed for field trips, shopping trips, bill paying and medical appointments.
 
7. Performs janitorial duties as needed to meet client needs and rent contract requirements.
 
8. Assists with monthly bills and receipts and shopping for supplies.
 
9. Assists with all fundraising activities.
 
10. Abides by Agency Rules, Regulations, Policies, Procedures and Agency handbook, including regular attendance at work.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
 
High School diploma or GED required. 2+ years experience working with senior population or challenged adults. Must possess valid drivers license and dependable transportation. Must secure Class “D” and Endorsement “F” certification.
