Basic Function:
Under the general direction of the Director of Administration and with guidance from the Executive Director and Director of Operations, this position is responsible for the care, maintenance, and cleanliness of the Coalition building and facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set a positive Christian example in word, actions, attitudes, and relationships.
- Represent the Coalition in a professional and respectful manner.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and fire safety regulations.
- Maintain contact with service providers including water, electricity, alarm systems, sanitation/sewer, Department of Health, locksmiths, and electricians.
- Oversee facility maintenance and provide reports on repair needs and cost estimates.
- Monitor and maintain building security, ensuring all doors, windows, and locks function properly.
- Assist with moving and repairing office furniture and equipment as needed.
- Perform general building upkeep, including painting and minor repairs.
- Support vehicle upkeep and routine maintenance.
- Provide custodial services including but not limited to:
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Emptying trash receptacles
- Dusting and cleaning windows
- Pressure washing exterior surfaces
- Cleaning and maintaining restrooms
- Replacing air filters and ensuring sanitation standards
- Maintain interior and exterior lighting systems.
- Conduct minor adjustments and repairs to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Manage and replenish cleaning supplies safely and efficiently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or requested by staff.
Knowledge Of:
- General facility and vehicle maintenance
- Proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals
- Standards for building sanitation and cleanliness
- Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems
Ability To:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff
- Learn and apply basic first aid and safety procedures
- Communicate clearly both orally and in writing
- Physically perform all required job tasks
- Operate basic tools and equipment including ladders, vacuums, floor buffers, hand tools, and small power tools
- Must submit to background check, physical and drug screening
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent; 3+ years of experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position and may require a flexible schedule to perform duties when the building is unoccupied.
Physical demands include: manual dexterity; bending, kneeling, and crouching; ability to lift 60 lbs.; standing for extended periods; walking long distances; reaching overhead and horizontally. You must maintain physical and mental alertness, as well as appropriate energy levels to perform job duties.
