Golf Shop Attendant

The City of Johnson City, Tennessee is accepting online applications for a Golf Shop Attendant. The employee performs responsible clerical and semiskilled work operating the golf shop, assisting patrons, collecting and accounting for fees; does related work as required. This position opens and closes the golf shop, provides assistance to patrons, assists with grill and range operations. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Golf Professional.

Examples of Work:

• collects greens fees and cart fees, maintains records and files;
• records each player on sign-up sheet, totals and verifies fees collected;
• receives, receipts and accounts for fees received, prepares daily cash reports and deposits;
• prepares scoring sheets, creates signs and prepares computer records, assists with handicapping;
• prepares and cleans golf carts, picks up range balls, checks course periodically;
• assists with developing working schedules and arranging tournaments;
• sells balls, tees, gloves and other accessories;
• cleans pro-shop, side rooms and rest rooms; performs general custodial work when assigned;
• opens and closes shop;
• may assist Golf Professionals in promotion of golf such as clinics or personal appearances.
• performs related tasks as required.

Requirements for Education and Experience: completion of high school or GED and some experience in golf operations and related concessions; possession of a valid Tennessee driver license; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Pre-employment physical drug screening and background check required.
