Position: Less-than-Truckload Manager

Job Summary:
In this pivotal role, you will oversee every aspect of LTL freight management for our freight brokerage, from carrier negotiations to shipment tracking, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position will focus on the growth and development of our LTL coordinators, where you will mentor, train, and inspire the team to achieve excellence and drive results. You will collaborate closely with sales teams, customers, and carriers to foster strong relationships, streamline processes, and implement innovative solutions contributing to the companyβs long-term growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Freight Management: Receive and process transportation requests, determine freight classification, and secure the best possible Carrier rates for LTL shipments.
- Carrier Procurement: Source and negotiate with reliable carriers to ensure competitive rates and superior service. Build strong, long-term relationships with carriers.
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor shipments daily from pick-up to delivery, providing up-to-date information and addressing any issues, such as delays or damages.
- Technology Optimization: Utilize and optimize existing technology, including TMS and other applications, to improve efficiency and accuracy in the LTL process.
- Problem Resolution: Collaborate closely with the sales team and management to promptly resolve customer complaints and issues, ensuring consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with field sales and other departments to develop a unified approach to customer acquisition, retention, and service excellence.
- Team Development: Oversee the LTL coordinators and focus on their growth and development by providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance their skills and contributions to the team.

- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication abilities. Capable of negotiating effectively and maintaining strong relationships with clients and carriers.
- Team Development: Demonstrated experience in growing and leading an LTL coordinator team to excellence, with a focus on training, mentoring, and performance improvement.
- Customer Focus: Strong commitment to customer service and achieving both company and personal goals through a customer-centric approach.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting. Adaptable and able to perform well under pressure.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the transportation industry, particularly in LTL freight logistics from a freight broker.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelorβs degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience in freight logistics with a focus on LTL preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and CRM systems.
