The Regional Contractor Sales Manager is responsible for building Orbit Industries’ brand presence and driving sales growth by engaging directly with electrical contractors, estimators, project managers, and field supervisors. This role is contractor-focused, working in parallel with Orbit’s Regional Sales Managers and Independent Rep Agencies, with a deeper emphasis on project-level influence, follow-up, and contractor conversion strategies.
A strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction is required—ideally having worked in the field and/or in project management or estimating. This individual will also act as a liaison to our Profab Division, introducing prefabricated solutions to contractors and ensuring coordination on engineered assemblies and deliverables.
Contractor Relationship Management & Sales Execution
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with electrical contractors in the assigned region.
- Engage purchasing, field, operations management, and estimating personnel to promote Orbit solutions.
- Conduct project job walks, product introductions, and solution-based selling calls.
- Follow up diligently on quotes and proposals—both in-person and electronically—to support closing of opportunities.
- Promote Orbit’s Profab Division solutions as value-added options to reduce labor.
Collaboration with Sales Channels
- Work alongside Regional Sales Managers, Rep Agencies and distributor partners to support contractor engagement strategies.
- Provide distributor partners with contractor intelligence and job site insights to help win business.
- Coordinate job-specific product selection with contractors and support contractors in navigating local distributor stocking options.
Technology & Reporting
- Utilize Orbit’s digital tools to track all contractor engagements, quotes, and follow-ups.
- Maintain call reports, weekly updates, and opportunity status summaries.
- Communicate contractor needs and trends to management and marketing for product development feedback.
Education & Brand Promotion
- Deliver hands-on training, product demos and “lunch & learn” style sessions at contractor offices and job sites.
- Promote Orbit’s full product offering with a focus on labor-saving and prefab-enabling products.
- Attend trade shows, NECA/IEC chapter meetings, contractor-focused expos, and other industry events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial electrical construction; field management or project management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working directly with contractors, project managers, estimators, and purchasing agents.
- Familiarity with electrical prefab assemblies and the ability to convey labor-savings benefits clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional email follow-ups and job site interactions.
- Comfortable with multiple technology platforms, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and mobile sales tools.
- Highly self-motivated and organized with exceptional time management skills.
- Capable of working independently and traveling extensively throughout the region.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous commercial construction field experience or Project Management.
- Background working for an electrical contractor, manufacturer, prefab service provider, or contractor sales team.
- Understanding of distributor/rep agency selling models and how to support sales channels effectively.

Education:
Extensive experience in commercial electrical construction is the primary qualification. Formal education in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business is a plus but not required.
