Summary of Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day business affairs of a Woolfson Eye Institute location to achieve corporate objectives by mobilizing and guiding their respective location towards extraordinary employee, patient, and financial outcomes.

List of Responsibilities/Duties

  • Directs and manages the day-to-day aspects of the business side of the clinical practice, including patient scheduling, billing, collecting, insurance processing, purchasing, payroll, accounts payable, daily cash management, including inventory and other internal controls.
  • Directs and manages the day-to-day aspects of the technician team providing support to different providers in the location.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources on recruiting and orientation for location specific team members.
  • Works closely with Human Resources in the hiring and, if necessary, termination of team members.
  • Ensures team members’ understanding of Woolfson Eye Institute’s mission and objectives and the importance of attitude, attendance, accuracy, appearance, and aptitude in achieving our objectives.
  • Seeks team members input regarding clinic operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Empowers team members to achieve patient satisfaction within operating policies.
  • Directs the conduct of oral and written performance evaluations.
  • Implements Woolfson Eye Institute’s personnel policies.
  • Monitors team members’ performances and takes appropriate action to assure quality performance and quality improvement.
  • Manages the day-to-day utilization of clinic resources to achieve optimal efficiency and effectiveness in all areas, including patient care, personnel, facilities, equipment, records, supplies, and capital.
  • Arranges for facilities and equipment maintenance and repair, as necessary.
  • Implements and monitors full compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, as well as other federal, state ,and local regulations and laws
  • Attends meetings as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

  • A graduate degree in business or a related area is desired; an undergraduate degree is preferred.

Background Requirements

  • Management experience in medical group practice is required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and managed care.
  • Must have basic financial skills and sufficient knowledge of accounting to direct the daily operations, review financial reports and determine corrective actions, as necessary.
